It was January 1802. Miss Catharine Morland was very excited. She was going to stay in the city of Bath for six weeks. She was going to stay with her friends, Mr and Mrs Allen.
'Bath is a beautiful city,' Mrs Allen said, 'We will enjoy ourselves in Bath, Catherine. The best people in Society will be there. We will dance at balls and we will go to plays.'
' Will I meet a handsome young man?' Catherine asked herself.
Catherine Morland was seventeen years old. She was a pretty, happy girl. She was slim and she had dark curly hair.
Catherine lived with her family in the village of Fullerton. Her father was the clergyman of the church.
I read the book called "Northanger Abbey". The time is 1802. The place is Bath, in the south-west of England. The city of Bath was very popular in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Springs of hot water came up from the ground. The main character is Catharine Morland. She was a cute girl. She had a brother, James Morland. She went to the city of Birth with her friends, Mr and Mrs Allen. She met Henry Tilney at the ball. Then, she fell in love with him. Also, she met Isabella and John Thorpe. Catharine got friends with them. Isabella fell in love with James Morland. And they made an engagement. John Thorpe fell in love with Catharine, but she didn't love him. John Thorpe told a lot of lies to make her fall for him. Because of these his actions, Catharine could not believe him. Catherine got friends with Henry's sister, Eleanor Tilney as she met Henry. They became good friends, so Catharine visited their house. However, one day their father, General Tilney got angry when he came home. And he made Catharine go home. Why was he angry at he? Could Catharine get married with Henry?

Through this story, It is interesting for me to understand how people spend their vacation in former days. Also, they all have their personal feelings and the accepted view. If you are interested in this story, please read this.
